Diary - Since I recently recovered from Covid

This is an entry from my diary. Please check it and correct any mistakes.

Since I recently recovered from Covid, I've been avoiding eating out with other people to prevent getting it again. In fact, I've refused to hang out with a lot of my friends for half a year. Some even have had two year-old children, and I still haven't met them yet. I don't know if my friends would think that I don't like them, but it's not like that! I just don't want to get sick because it's too tortured.

The first sentence is not terrible, but I would say: "I've not been eating out with other people, because I don't want to get it again." (You do know what I would say, don't you?)

Perhaps: "Some even have two-year-old children that I haven't met yet."

Perhaps: "I just don't want to get sick. I don't want to go through that again."
