1. Something happens when he comes home.
2. Something is happening when he comes home.
3. Something has happened when he comes home.
4. Something has been happening when he comes home.

Are the above four sentences grammatically correct?

Yes, they are all grammatical and possible.

@neb090 For the third time in less than 12 hours, I've had to improve your thread title. As I explained on your last thread, please use at least one of your full sentences as the title. A single-word title such as "happen" (your original title) is useless.

1. Something happens when he comes home.
2. Something is happening when he comes home.
3. Something has happened when he comes home.
4. Something has been happening when he comes home.

Are the above four sentences grammatically correct?
They are grammatically correct, but not necessarily appropriate. That very much depends on the full context.

Something happens when he comes home. He opens the door and goes inside. Then he goes to the fridge and gets himself a beer.

How about the following sentences:

1. Something happened when he comes home.
2. Something was happening when he came home.
3. Something had happened when he came home.
4. Something had been happening when he came home.
5. Something will be happening when he comes home.
6. Something will have been happening when he comes home.

In the above sentences, are all the tenses of come grammatically correct?

#1 is not possible. The others are.
