Hello.

I was told we don't usually say: "they sound equally".

How can I say it in good English?

Thanks.

In what context do you wish to use the words?

If you're thinking about face/faith, then I'd use they sound the same.

Because the verb "sound" in your sentence is a linking verb, the adverb "equally" is wrong.

That's why I asked about context. "They sound equally bad" is fine.
