I found a phrase that I don't understand what it means. I think the stage if from the original tv programme. Am I correct?

The stage show is a spin-off from a television programme.

A spin-off is a drama or dramatic series that shares one or more characters and possibly some plot lines with a predecessor show or series. To take an example from fairly recent American TV, Breaking Bad gave rise to the spin-off Better Call Saul.
