"English cities offer a wide selection of cuisine from many different nations."

Thanks everybody.
But what is the exact meaning of the underlined selection?

(1) I did some googling and discovered that some people (such as I) prefer

"spoiled by choice."

(2) As the other posters explained, it is an elegant way to say:

There are so many choices that it is impossible to choose which one you want.

(3) For example, in some countries, people do not have many choices when they

go to the market. Maybe there are 2 brands of toothpaste. But in some other

countries, when you want to buy toothpaste, there may be 25 brands, sizes, and

flavors. You are spoiled by choice.

(4) Of course, I shall not name the country, but this is a true story:

In the 1980's, thousands of people from country X came to the United States to

live. When they visited an American supermarket for the first time they cried.

They could not believe the choice and the huge (super big) amount of food. (In

their country, they were accustomed to waiting in line for hours and then finding

almost nothing inside the market when they finally entered.)
