Dear friends, would you please tell me the meanings of "sharp and bare" in the following sentence?
The author's dialog was always sharp and bare: "You love me?" "Uh-huh." "Good."

Also the meaning of "miserly" in the following sentence:
I will tell you an anecdote that shows how wise he was about woods and how miserly he could be with words.

Sharp = To the point.
Bare = Minimal, not using more words than necessary.

the meaning of "miserly" in the following sentence:
It's figurative. It means he didn't speak much. He "saved" his words and didn't let them escape his lips, just as a miser hoards his money and doesn't spend much.
