The printer was broken down. You should find someone to repair it.

The staff say"OK, I will dial a number to Printer service hotline for asking help."

Is this situation's conversation correct?

Does the sentence make any sense?

That's OK, Matthew, but there's no need to capitalise 'printer service hotline'.

It could be the name of a company. The context is not clear.

Is "You should find someone to repair it" part of the situation you are describing or part of the conversation?

The printer was broken down in the past. I know it. It doesn't break down now.

So, I will use past tense.

Am i wrong?

If it is not broken now, why call a repair service?

It broke in the past, but it remains in a state of being "broken" now.

The printer on the first floor broke yesterday. Use the one on the second floor.
The printer on the first floor is broken. They have called someone to fix it.

If the printer was broken yesterday and it has not yet been fixed, it is still broken down.
