The use of "to" in my sentence"

Is "to" used correctly in my sentence?
"People should ask for each other's forgiveness during their lives. Some people believe, God gives the right to forgiveness to the people who were hurt."

Would it be correct to say "During their lifetimes"?

I would take it for granted that if you are going to forgive someone it's going to happen during your lifetime. (I suppose you can be forgiven for something after you are dead, but I don't think that applies here. So do you need "during their lifetimes"? No. Can you use it? Sure. (Whatever floats your boat. ;-) )
