[Grammar] They will demand you/demand from you.

When somebody asks you to give him/her something, or if you owe something to someone.

He will demand you for the books.
or
He will demand for the books from you.
(Now, here the object is known, "the books" is the object in this sentence)

But how do we construct a sentence especially when we don't have an object?


  1. He will demand you?
  2. He will demand from you?
So which of the aforementioned sentences is correct?

He will demand the books from you.
He will demand that you give him the books.


You can't use 'demand' as a verb without an object.

Now, this is what I was looking for.
