Those two makes me laugh - why is this incorrect and should be 'Those two make me laugh? - I know this falls into subject-verb agreement, but this one is not computing in my brain

"Those two" is plural, like for example "children".
Now, which of the following do you find natural:
"Children make me laugh"
or
"Children makes me laugh"?
