Hi,

I came across this exercise today and I was wondering which of the four is the correct choice.

"Every time I watch this movie there is a new tinge/tint/tingle/taint of meaning that springs to mind".

I think is either tinge or tint, but I'm not sure because I coulnd't find this expression anywhere. And by expression I mean "tint/tinge of meaning".

By the way, expression and idiom are synonyms?

Thank you.

I would say it's probably "tinge".

The film was tinged with sadness.
I detected a tinge of irony in the play.
