Hi,

Let's assume that one of my friends named Jessica was died last year.

-She was so hardworking. She used to/would work hard for hours.

Or

-She was so lazy. She didn't use to like working.

My question is can we use 'used to / would' for the people who are dead now, or must we use simple past instead of that?

Thank you...

Hi,

-She was so hardworking. She used to/would work hard for hours. Either one for past habit or routine.

Or

-She was so lazy. She didn't use to like working. OK.

My question is can we use 'used to / would' for the people who are dead now, or must we use simple past instead of that?

Thank you...

'She never liked working.' will do just fine aswell IMO.

Yes, you can use "used to / would" for dead people, the same way as you use it for living people.
