Can I say that the composition of a phrasal ver is a verb followed by one or more prepositions? I heard someone saying that a phrasal verb is made of a verb followed by a particle.
Why particle and not preposition?

The little word has been referred to as adverb, particle and preposition. It doesn't really matter what the label is.

A preposition connects, but with many phrasal verbs, there is no connection. However, I couldn't care less about calling them prepositions.

@memoretest Admittedly, it might be hard to think of a different title in this case, but please do a better job next time.
