[STRIKE]Respected Teachers[/STRIKE] Unnecessarily formal and incorrectly capitalised

Hello.

Please help me understand [STRIKE]it.[/STRIKE] "I went to my friend". Here, 'went' is a verb, 'to' is a preposition; what is 'my friend'? It cannot be an adverb because it is not answering How/Where/When. It cannot be an object since [STRIKE]GO[/STRIKE] 'go' is an intransitive verb.

[STRIKE]Kindly[/STRIKE] Please help me.

Welcome to the forum. :hi:

Please see my corrections above.

There is one major problem with your post/question and that is that "I went to my friend" is an unlikely sentence. What do you think it means?
