Is it "took" or "taken"? Are both grammatically correct in this context?

They're both possible depending on context (which means why you're saying this and how soon after the pic you're saying this).

You need "detailed", not "details".

As a fellow Indian I can explain--I thought it was clear but that's probably because I understand the OP.

(If you think about it a little and make allowance for the fact that the OP's native language isn't English, it should be clear.)

The OP means they took photos for their own reference after viewing the place. The photos may not have been very clear but that didn't matter much to them because they'd seen the place with their own eyes and the photos were just for reference. He however acknowledges that the photo may not be very clear to a person who hasn't seen the place.
