1. "Atmospheric" = "creating a distinctive mood, especially of romance, mystery, or nostalgia." -- The New Oxford American Dictionary (2001). [I emphasized those three nouns.]

2. If you google "Udaipur" (as I did), you will find that it is a town that perfectly fits the dictionary's definition.

a. Many tourists (including celebrities) flock there.

b. It is called "The City of Lakes."

c. Besides lakes, there are many palaces.

i. Speaking of romance and mystery, some of the palaces honor a beautiful princess whom many princes wanted to marry. So she poisoned herself!

3. Thus, if you go to Udaipur, it is impossible NOT to be influenced by the physical beauty of the city and by the part that it has played in India's long history.

P.S. I credit Wikipedia for those facts. If you go to the "images" section of Google and type in "Udaipur," you will find many pictures of the town. Those pictures will show you why visitors find the city unforgettable.
