I've been always wondering what tense we have to use when we ask about someone's nationality.

1. Where did you come from? - I came from Korea.

2. Where do you come from - I come from Korea.

3. Where do you come from? - I came from Korea.

Which of them are most grammatical?

Thank you in advance.

1. Where did you come from? - I came from Korea.
This is the question you might ask if you wanted to know where a new arrival in your town/country had started their journey.

2. Where do you come from? - I come from Korea.
This is generally the question to ask someone's town/country of origin. Depending on context, it might be asking where their permanent home is, or where they were born.

If I am asked that question, I normally reply, "Originally from England, but I live in the Czech Republic now". This answers both ideas.

3. Where do you come from? - I came from Korea.
This is an unnatural answer to the question.
