Why is "prune" laughable?

I have never heard an American man refer to his testicles as grapes. It would be demeaning. The most common would be "balls".

I always presumed they meant a bunch of grapes when used in this sense, not two individual fruits. Um, not that I've spent any time pondering or mentally visualizing male genitalia.....

Before this thread is (justifiably) closed, may I remind you of that American gentleman who had his "fifteen minutes of fame" a few years ago?

At the airport, he was outraged when he felt that security people were becoming much too intimate while checking his body for weapons, etc.

So he yelled four words that made him a (short-lived) hero to all air passengers: Don't touch my JUNK!
