A: Why ___ you ___ at Eddie last night?
B: Because he sat on my watch and broke it.

(A) did; shout
(B) was; shouting
(C) do; shout
(D) are; shouting

The answer to the above question is option A.
Is option B also acceptable to native speakers?
 
"Why were you shouting at Eddie last night?" is perfectly good, but it wasn't given as an option in post #1.
 
And the title of the thread shows the problem.

It's not even acceptable to non-native ones! Do you really think "Why was you ..." is okay?
Please stop quoting from that book.
