I guess you're talking about sitting alone in a room and organizing your thoughts. You get in in touch with your inner self.

I've just about got used to this strange requirement for you to put each sentence on its own line. However, under no circumstances can you omit the closing full stop at the end of a sentence.
 
That's not grammatical.

What I meant was the whole mental process that OP described can be called "introspection". What's wrong with "doing introspection"?

Nobody said there was anything wrong with it. But it's not what you wrote. "An introspection" is incorrect because introspection is uncountable.
 
I have never encountered it as countable.

I find engage in introspection much more natural than do introspection.

Introspection is not a synonym for meditation in BrE.
