Along the way children dressed in long wool coats stopped to look at us.

Why do we use "wool" when we have an adjective "woolen"?

What is the difference between wool and woolen when used an attributive?

Thanks!

Jason

No difference. The noun "wool" can be used as an attribute adjective.

In BE, we spell the adjectives 'woollen' and 'woolly'..

"In the room was a simple wood table with a woolly sheep dog lying on it."
Why do we use 'wood' when we have 'wooden'?
Why do we use 'woolly' when we have 'woollen' and 'wool'?
Shouldn't Woody Woodpecker be called Wooden Woodpecker?
