I wonder how you say when you give your students homework of writing down the words they missed in a vocab test.

1. Write down the words you missed on the test 3times at home.

Will it be okay if I say like sentence 1 or 2?

We tend to give students this kind of homework just to help them to learn correct spelling rather than usage.

When I was in elementary school, the "wiseguys" used to write sentences like:

I just wrote a sentence with "controversy" in it.
"Controversy" begins with the letter "C".
The word "controversy" has eleven letters.

Those sentences, of course, resulted in a demand for three more sentences for each. Eventually, they learned.
