My strength is the result of years' worth of engagement in sports.

There is something about this sentence that I don't like. Is the word 'engagement' used correctly? Is there a better way to write this?

I wouldn't use "years' worth" at all. I don't think "engagement" really works either. We do or play sport(s).

My strength is the result of years of doing/playing sport.

Wait, did you say 'sport'? No plural?

It's how people in Britain talk.

We use "sport" as a collective term.
