A clip from Oxford University Press - Open Forum 1-4, the text is: You mean he forgets things?

I hear something strange, but I don't know what.

Is the sentence, or the words of it, pronounced normally?

It's within the range of normal AmE pronunciations.

The initial /f/ of forgets isn't pronounced very well.

To me the problem is that the f in forgets is voiced so that it becomes a v. I hear "You mean he vorgets things?"
