Not just me. I've known many educated L2 students of English object to the inclusion of things like horoscopes and articles about deducing personality, etc, from handwriting in EFL coursebooks.

Yes, I suppose I sounded grumpy before. Are you suggesting I had no reason to be so?

I'm not a fan of horoscopes inside or outside the classroom, and I didn't mean to imply any grumpiness on your part. There is a lot wrong with textbooks, including the shortcomings you pointed out. As an L2 student, I'd get a bit sick of the blandness and artificiality.
