***NOT A TEACHER***prince, good afternoon. (1) I am looking forward to SOMETHING. "Something" is a noun. So you need a noun. "Hearing" is a gerund. Gerunds are used as nouns. "Hear" is a verb. So it cannot be used here. Same explanation for "be." (2) Some teachers say it is a good idea to use "persons" for small numbers. Today most teachers say it's OK to use "people" for the plural of "person" for small numbers, too. Some people follow the "old" rule -- as in your elevator example. Maybe "10 persons" sounds more exact than "10 people." Of course, it is super important to follow the rules in an elevator because too many persons/people inside an elevator can cause big problems.
