won't OR don't (understood)
I think I know the difference already.
for example:
1. I don't let the dogs out because I am afraid that they will bite any passers-by.
2. I have gone out a lot recently. My parents won't let me out this time.
Maybe, "won't" has a kind of future sense in it.

It does. "Won't" means "will not".
"I will not do it (I won't do it)" is the negation of "I will do it".
