drag of brakes = screeching of brakes
Dear teachers,
Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?
The sound of the approaching grain teams was louder thud of big hooves on hard ground, drag of brakes and the jingle of trace.
drag of brakes = screeching of brakes
Thank you for your efforts.
Regards,
V.
