Hello,
When we say, it pointed in a certain angle/direction, is it okay and have the same meaning as 'toward'? For instance: The investigation pointed in one angle.

Yes, it is perfectly correct and they mean the same thing IMO. Eg Some investigations may point in the same direction

I would say that an investigation points in a specific direction.
An investigation usually consists of several angles, which are all being investigated in order to try and reach a conclusion.
