Someone please tell me the meaning.

This is from some talk about baseball.

"He got drafted in the sixth round right out of high school. He had a cup of coffee in the Royals' organization."

What does it mean "to have a cup of coffee" here?
And what is "the Royals' organization"?
Is it different from simple "Royals"?

It means he wasn't in the organization for very long; he didn't stay that long. The (Reading) Royals is an ice hockey team.

If it's baseball, it'e likely the Kansas City Royals. Organization means not just the big league team, but its minor league affiliates.

"A cup of coffee" is a brief stint in the major leagues. The player played with the big league team, but not for very long.

Yes, baseball, of course. I should have read more. The emphasis is mine here:

-poses as: catcher, Roy Chapel, #2; from the Great North League (Alaska); has played all over, Venezuela, Portland, South Korea; per Hardison, drafted in 6th round right out of high school, had a cup of coffee in the Royals organization, bounced around the minors, bounced around the world, made a very popular commercial for an energy drink in Japan
-doesn’t like baseball (doesn’t like any sport where you can’t score on defense)
-as Roy, starts rumor that the team is moving
-takes batting practice (BP)
-plays baseball: calls game and gets runner out (tosses him over shoulder); hit walk off single in the 9th to win the game; PJ Philbins named a reuben after him

This expression seems very interesting to me.
