Please help me with this sentence.
I will go ahead and process the refund.
I will go ahead and take care of the issue.
I know that the usage of "go ahead" is wrong in the above sentence. Could someone help me explain it technically.

The likely situation in which you would use 'go ahead' as in your sentence is that there has been a lot of discussion about a customer's complaint, and eventually it is agreed that a refund is due.
If there had been no such discussion, you would only have said "I'll give you a refund".

Use 'go ahead' if there has been much discussion about the complaint and a refund. This discussion may have been between you and the customer or you and your manager.
If there has been no such discussion, or very little, don't bother with 'go ahead'.
