Rovender stood with his eyes still fixed on the landmark. He peered out into the landscape toward its direction.
what do "toward its direction" and "peer out" mean?

hi, i know what " to peer" means. but i thought that "to peer out" may have got a different meaning and couldn't find in dictionaries in that way... thank you
Hi ovvpapatya
You "peer out of a window" into the darkness outside or "peer out through the mist or gloom", possibly at a distant object.
Essentially you are straining to look (which is the essence of "peering") at something through (i.e. "out" of) something that tends to hinder your vision.
Hope this helps a bit more
