Default thus health will be affected vs thus affecting health

    1. A person with a low life condition will not be able to smile, thus his/her health will be affected.

    2. A person with a low life condition will not be able to smile, thus affecting his/her health.

I believe sentence 1 is OK but I doubt if 2 is acceptable. Please clear my doubt.

    Thanks.

Both sentences make no sense, so it's difficult to answer your question.

Whatever low life conditiion means, everybody can sometimes smile, and even if they can't, an inability to smile is unlikely to affect one's health.

Yes, I would avoid "low life condition" as the phrase "low-life" means a ruffian. Perhaps you mean "low socio-economic status" or "hard life"?
