Makes perfect sense to me, also, since that's pretty much how I described my future brother-in-law after I first met him. My husband grew up in Georgia, and oddly enough, every member of his family seems to have a different "degree" of a Southern drawl in their speech. (I still don't understand how three children can grow up in the same house and end up with totally different accents as adults.) Mr. Ouisch's older brother had such a thick, heavy drawl that I almost needed subtitles to understand him at our first meeting.
