Dear teachers...
How do we call the act of walking through the woods, lakes, bridges where we can see wild animals etc?
Is it 'track'? If so, what are the most common collocations?
Let's go tracking!
Go on a track!

You go on a hike or, if it is a really long journey, a trek.
SoothingDave is right.
You can also go rambling in the woods.
Tracking is a specialised skill which experienced woodsmen use to follow the course animals or fugitives have taken, looking for clues such as broken twigs, droppings, footprints and disturbed brushwood.
