what "holding your tongue taught" mean in here?
the context is this
Train your tongue. It sounds silly, but limbering up your tongue helps achieve the relaxed control you need to roll your R's. Fold your tongue over itself, wiggle it from side-to-side and make circular motions. Practice holding your tongue taught while keeping the tip relaxed.
no, it's really taught!! please help me figure it out!!
i saw it in this website ehow.com how to roll your Rs
Well, given that in English we don't roll our "Rs", I think it's very likely that the instructions on that website were not written by a native English speaker. That would explain the spelling mistake.
Taut = stretched tight.
As said previously (twice) "taught" is an error and makes no sense.
"Holding your tongue taut" makes perfect sense.
taut 100%
I think l'll go with you guys!!
