Default How do you call in English

What's the English for a certificate you get from a court, that states you were not in prison?

    Thank you,
    E.

I'm not sure there is such a thing in our judicial system. Why would you need a certificate to prove you were not in jail? If you don't have a criminal record, then it's not necessary to prove you don't have one, I would like to think.
If there are any legal beagles here on the forums, I'll defer to them on this matter, though.

In the UK, we have a CRB check (Criminal Records Bureau) which you have to have to get certain jobs.
