    Hi all,

    Please ,help me about that.
Hi Mr. Aj, Is it possible to...........................................?

If you are asking a teacher to help you with a question about English on a one-to-one basis (that is, you are not raising your hand in class during a particular discussion to ask a question), you really don't have to be too specific with your initial remarks. Questions like "May I ask you a question? I'm having difficulty understanding _________________" or "Can you help me with something? I don't know what _______________ means" or "Mr. (Teacher's name)? Do you have a minute? I'm having trouble with ______________" all sound like natural conversation to a native speaker. But please never hesitate to ask your teacher a question, whether or not you are concerned about phrasing it "properly" - the teacher is more than eager to help you!

[QUOTE=sumon.;831235] to ask questions to a teacher

    NOT A TEACHER

If you want to really impress your teacher, you might say:

Excuse me, Mr. ____. May I please ask a question of you?

(For those persons who are trying to speak "perfect" English, one should

ask a question/ favor of someone, not "to" someone.)

    ***

As the moderator showed us, in regular conversation, we just say "May/can I ask

you a question?" If you are speaking with a "superior," however, I would recommend

the more formal and respectful way with "of."

    In my view
you should not hesitate to ask any problem specially from your teacher. You may simply say, May I please.ask.... A teacher is meant to solve your doubt ,he will not be impressed the way you ask but he will appreciate you that how important your problem is ..

In the average teaching situation there is no time for every question to be prefaced by 'Excuse me, professor, but I wonder if I may be allowed to please ask a question of you'.

The teacher is likely to say 'Life's too short for all that. Just ask your question and get on with it.'
