Default deserve considering / being considered

Your proposals deserve considering / being considered in detail.

Do both verb forms go with 'deserve'? Thank you in advance.

Thank you very much for your help. I've now got to know that we should use the more common forms of 'deserve to be done' and 'deserve + noun'.

My question came up when I read the PDF version of an online English Grammar. The original statement and examples are as follows:

    2. Deserve + gerund is not very common, but is mainly used with passive
constructions or where there is a passive meaning:
    a. Your proposals deserve being considered in detail.
    b. These ideas deserve discussing. (= to be discussed).
