    Default deterrence vs deterrent (power)

We conducted the drill to let everybody know that Iran's defence and deterrence powers on the open seas and the Strait of Hormuz are aimed at defending our borders, resources and our nation.

Is 'deterrence' the correct word? Shouldn't it be 'deterrent'?

    Thanks.

It's OK. If you did change it, then it would be better to change both to adjectives.
