Hi, what is "intent on" in this context?
"And he was so intent on going to Florida—Florida!—that he was willing to leave
his daughter’s recital drive out to the airport ..."
It means he was absolutely determined to go. Nothing would stop him. He was adamant he would go.
Look up the definition of "intent" as an adjective.
