I know that equipment is uncountable noun and device is countable, but are there any differences in meaning?
Hope to hear from you soon!
Thanks
I recommend the use of a good dictionary. Sometimes a device is not equipment at all - though this is not the most common use of 'device'. But there are occasions when the two words are interchangeable (with the syntactic proviso that you've noted).
b
Equipment = the necessary items for a particular purpose
Device = a thing made or adapted for a particular purpose
Several types of heavy equipment are needed to build an airport runway, but only one device is used to paint the surface once it has been finished.
Thanks a lot
