Do you say "I graduated from elementary school in 19XX"? I remember someone told me it doesn't sound natural, but I'm not 100 percent sure.

If it sounds odd, how would you say that　naturally? "I finisished elementary school"?

It would only be used as a joke in AusE, somewhat like graduating from kindergarten to real school. Yes, just say, "I finished elementary school".

It's the same in BrE. We don't graduate from high school, either. The only place we graduate from is university. If I say just, "I graduated in 1967", it is clear that the only thing I can mean is that I left university with a Bachelor's degree.

It would not be unusual in the U.S. to hear/read one "graduated from elementary school" or "high school", but neither would the terms 'completed" or "finished" be unusual.
