She had a duck of a boy.
Hello!
Here is the following sentence:
"... Rosemary had been married two years. She had a duck of a boy. No, not Peter - Michael. And her husband absolutely adored her..".
("A Cup of Tea" by Katherine Mansfield)
What does "she had a duck of a boy" mean?
Thank you!
