Another way of making yourself sound more native-like is a method I call "imitation". Just play your favorite scene from you favorite movie or TV series (where they speak the desired accent) and then try to imitate what the characters are saying in that scene. In addition, record your voice while imitating and then compare the original with what you recorded. Try to identify where your words and sentences differ from the original and they record yourself again while trying to improve what you failed to imitate the previous times.
