Not really. That's pretty standard in any English with that usage.
It's the same as 'I'm on a four year contract'. When talking about things like that, I've noticed 'on' is used a lot more regularly than 'in'.
I'm not a teacher yet, but I am studying a Bachelor of Education with an English Literature major at Charles Sturt University, in NSW, Australia.
