Everyone of us has his own burden. The only thing we can do is to submit
Is the verb "submit" used correctly in this sentence "Everyone of us has his own burden. The only thing we can do is to submit"? Does it suit the meaning. Should I write "to submit to it"?

The meaning is that we all should submit to our burden.

According to the OALD 8th, SUBMIT can be used as an intransitive verb; you can say GIVE IN TO and YIELD also.
