    Hi, do they use school holidays in AE ?

    For example; I will come visit during the school holidays

    No, not really. They speak of a winter break or spring break.

    NOT A TEACHER

    I've heard Americans use the term "summer vacation" referring to the period of free time school kids get sometime between June and September (depending on the region).

    'Vacation', 'break', and 'recess' are all used in AmE to describe time away from school.
