    Default relationship status

    Hi

Mary has always been thin-skinned, and her mood shifts depending on her relationship status, how much
money is in her bank account, and even the weather. Mary says that she can be laughing one minute and crying the next.

What is a "relationship status"? I think it's not the same as "marital status"?

It's very similar to marital status. However, marital status should only elicit the answers "married, single, widowed, divorced".

Relationship status can be "single; dating; in a relationship; co-habiting; married; separated; divorced". I would not give "widowed" as a relationship status.

If you are a member of Facebook, you will know that one of the "Relationship Status" choices is "It's complicated"!

It's similar, but has to do with whether she currently is dating anyone ("in a relationship").
