"initial application" / "primary application"
Hi,
When you see a doctor for the first time with particular complaints, how do you call this visit: "initial application" or "primary application"?
Thanks a lot

Re: "initial application" / "primary application"
You visit doctors. "Initial visit" would work.

Re: "initial application" / "primary application"
We often see a doctor in BrE. Also, when we get to his/her surgery, the doctor sees us.
Context is important. Please provide enough for us to be able to deal effectively with your question.
Your thread title should include all or part of the word/phrase being discussed.

Yes, we "see" doctors in AmE, too. But we would use "visit" as the noun to describe the event. Or "consultation," if you need a big word.

Ok, then what's the noun? Reception? Should my phrase be "initial reception"?
Thanks

You can say 'visit as a new patient'.
